The trip starts at your hotel: the pickup covers the southern resorts, from Costa Calma down to Morro Jable, about 30 minutes before the boat leaves. The boat sails from Morro Jable harbour, where the operator, Fuerteventura Full Experience, has its base. The operator calls it a zodiac; the listing photos show a large black and red rigid inflatable with rows of seats and a raised steering console, the kind of boat that covers a lot of sea quickly. It runs along the Jandía coast looking for dolphins and whales, then stops for 30 minutes so everyone can snorkel, with masks and snorkels provided and a cold drink on board. After two hours it is back at the harbour and the bus takes you home.
The sea here is protected. The Sotavento coast of Jandía, north-east of Morro Jable, has been a marine Special Area of Conservation since September 2011: 5,461 hectares, chosen for the largest seagrass meadows in the Canary Islands. The Spanish environment ministry lists bottlenose, Atlantic spotted, common and rough-toothed dolphins, Risso's dolphins and fin whales using these waters to feed, breed or pass through, along with loggerhead and green turtles. Guests most often report dolphins; the operator says they and whales can often be seen off the Jandía Natural Park.
Every boat is bound by a Canary Islands decree of 2000: no approach closer than 60 metres, no faster than 4 knots within 500 metres, no more than 30 minutes within 100 metres, no more than two boats within 100 metres, and no swimming or diving within 500 metres of the animals. That is why the snorkel stop is a separate part of the trip, away from the dolphins. Fourteen boats based at Morro Jable were on the Canary Islands government's register of whale watching boats on 26 October 2026.
The operator says it has run trips on this coast for more than 15 years; it also runs a glass-bottom boat from the same harbour. Children from 3 are welcome, and on the operator's own site children aged 3 to 11 pay 38 euros against 50 for adults. Children under 3 and pregnant women cannot go.
Why this one
On GetYourGuide on 26 October 2026, this trip was rated 4.6 from about 4,300 reviews, from 50 euros: more reviews than any other Fuerteventura trip we compared, and a bestseller badge. Its closest rival from the same harbour, a slower boat with a swim stop, was rated 4.5 from about 90 reviews, from 49 euros, for two and a half hours. The Magic catamaran from Morro Jable was rated 4.4 from about 1,800 reviews, from 79 euros, for four hours with food, drinks and a swim: the one to choose if you want a big catamaran deck and a long lazy day rather than a fast two hours. In the north, a five-hour catamaran from Corralejo combines dolphin watching with Lobos, rated 4.6 from about 530 reviews, from 75 euros.
Book this one if you are staying in the south and want the dolphins, a swim and hotel pickup in one short trip. With children aged 3 to 11, compare the operator's own price: 38 euros a child against 50 for adults, where GetYourGuide quoted from 50. If you are staying in Corralejo, the trip is 105 minutes away by road: book our Lobos catamaran instead, which snorkels off Lobos. For a gentler family day in the south, the animal park is up the coast at La Lajita.

Calmer seas from May to October
No source we read gives the dolphins here a season; what changes through the year is the sea: in the four years of data we looked at, the highest waves off Morro Jable stayed under 1.5 metres on about three days in four from May to October, about half the days from November to February, and under a third of days in March. The water is warmest, about 23°C, from August to October.

The catch
Dolphins are likely; whales are a bonus
These are wild animals, and every listing for this trip says sightings are not guaranteed. Guests most often report dolphins, sometimes for much of the trip; whales turn up less often.
What to do. Book it for the dolphins and the swim, and count a whale as luck.
A fast boat bounces
This is a rigid inflatable built for speed, not a catamaran. The operator does not take pregnant women or children under 3, and on a lively day the ride out is firm.
What to do. Take a seasickness tablet before you board if you need one. For a gentler ride, book the Magic catamaran from the same harbour.
You will get wet
Spray comes over a speedboat, and the snorkel stop puts you in the water. Resellers of the trip tell guests to dress for the weather and expect to get wet.
What to do. Wear swimwear under your clothes, bring a towel and a dry bag for your phone, and a light jacket from November to April.
The sea is livelier from November to April
In the four years of sea data we looked at, the highest waves off Morro Jable stayed under 1.5 metres on about three days in four from May to October, half the days from November to February and under a third in March.
What to do. In winter and spring, book early in your stay so a rough day leaves time for another try.
Children pay less on the operator's site
On GetYourGuide the trip was from 50 euros on 26 October 2026. On the operator's own site, adults paid 50 euros and children aged 3 to 11 paid 38.
What to do. With young children, compare both before you book; GetYourGuide gives free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
Pickup is for the south only
The pickup covers Costa Calma, Esquinzo, Jandía and Morro Jable. From Corralejo the harbour is about 105 minutes by road.
What to do. Staying in the north, book our Lobos catamaran from Corralejo instead.
