Which room to book at Bellagio

The Fountain View King. It is the same 510 sq ft (47 m²) remodelled room as the entry Premier King, with the same king bed, walk-in shower and double basins, but it faces the lake and the Fountains of Bellagio, and on Tuesday 18 May 2027 it cost $417 a night against $395. Nothing else on the ladder buys as much for as little.

Why this one

At Bellagio the money does not buy space. Every standard room but one is 510 sq ft (47 m²), all of them remodelled since 2021, and on Tuesday 18 May 2027 the Premier King, the Premier Two Queen and both Spa Premier rooms cost the same $395. The next $22 buys a choice of extras: the Restore rooms add air and water purification and circadian lighting, and the Fountain View King, at the same $417, adds the lake. From it you look across the water at a show every half hour from 3pm on weekdays and from noon at weekends, then every 15 minutes from 8pm to midnight, with the tallest jets climbing past the window. It is the reason most people come to Bellagio, and this is the cheapest way to have it from the room.

Above it, the ladder buys space before it buys the view again. The Strip View Spa King at $431 looks along the Boulevard, and the Salone Suite at $453 adds a living room and a bath but promises no outlook. The Penthouse Suite at $647 can face the fountains, but it is sold with three views under one name; the suites that always face them, from the 2,075 sq ft (193 m²) One Bedroom Lakeview up, had no rate that night.

Ask for
Ask for a high floor: the hotel sells the view by room type, not by floor, and from the lower floors the restaurant roofs on the near shore hide the closest stretch of the lake. For two beds, book the Fountain View Two Queen, which has the same outlook. If you book a Penthouse Suite, ask whether yours faces the fountains, the Strip or the sunset, because all three are sold under the one name.
Avoid
The Strip View Spa King if the fountains are the point: it looks along the Strip with only a partial view of the lake, and it costs more than the Fountain View King. The Resort Tower King is the largest standard room, but it is sold on tower views, not the lake. If you want a bath, note that the Fountain View King has a shower only; the Spa Premier King in the Spa Tower has a soaking tub but no promised view. Rates are for two, and a third or fourth guest adds $50 a night plus tax each, so four people in a Two Queen room pay $100 a night plus tax over the quoted rate.

Suites against rooms

Two suites are worth singling out. The Salone Suite is the cheapest step up on the whole ladder: 853 sq ft (79 m²) with a living area, a soaking tub and a separate glass shower, at $453 on the May Tuesday, $58 more than the entry room and $36 more than a Fountain View King. It promises no view, so it suits a long stay, or a couple who will use the sofa more than the window.

The Penthouse Suite in the Bellagio Tower, 1,536 sq ft (143 m²) at $647, is sold with a fountain, Strip or sunset view, and can be joined to a Tower Deluxe room for a second bedroom. Above it the One Bedroom Lakeview, Two Bedroom Grand Lakeview and Chairman's suites face the fountains and the Presidential Suite the sunset, from 2,075 to 4,075 sq ft (193 to 379 m²); none had a rate for the May night. Beyond them sit nine two-bedroom Villas of 6,500 sq ft (604 m²), each with its own terrace, garden and pool.

Our verdict

Book Bellagio for the Las Vegas on the postcards, with the lake, the fountains and the Conservatory a lift ride from your bed. Pay the small step to a Fountain View King, and budget for the resort fee and parking on top.
