Las Vegas design comes in two kinds, and these five cover both. Bellagio and The Venetian Resort Las Vegas are the great themed resorts of 1998 and 1999: Lake Como on an 8.5-acre lake, and Renaissance Venice with a Rialto Bridge, a Campanile and a Grand Canal under a painted sky. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, finished in 2010 in a modern style with no theme, and Fontainebleau Las Vegas, opened in 2023 in a 67-storey blue-glass tower, are the other kind. Wynn Las Vegas sits between them, its lake and gardens kept out of sight of the Boulevard.
Much of the best of it is downstairs and open to anyone walking in from the Strip: Chihuly's glass flowers and the Conservatory at Bellagio, The Chandelier at The Cosmopolitan, the Lake of Dreams at Wynn. So choose the room as well as the building. Wynn's rooms were redesigned in 2022, The Venetian's suites in 2024 and 2025, and Fontainebleau's date from its opening in December 2023.
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas had a small plot between Bellagio and CityCenter, so it went up rather than out: two glass towers of 50 and 52 storeys, with its restaurants, bars and pools in layers above the casino. It was first sold largely as condo-hotel apartments, and when the developer defaulted Deutsche Bank completed it with no theme at all, which still sets it apart on a Strip of Roman palaces and Venetian canals. The condo plan left it large bathrooms, and from the Terrace Studio up the rooms open through sliding glass doors on to private terraces, rare on the Strip.
The set piece is The Chandelier, David Rockwell's bar on three levels inside a walk-through chandelier hung with two million crystal beads. Each level pours its own menu, and Level 1.5, tucked in among the crystals, is the one to see.

Terrace One Bedroom Suite Fountain View
610 sq ft (57 m²) plus a 110 sq ft (10 m²) terrace$270 a night
The bed sits behind telescoping doors, a Japanese soaking tub comes with it, and the private terrace faces the Bellagio lake and its fountains.
Wynn Las Vegas turned the Strip's habit around. A man-made mountain keeps the lake and gardens out of sight of the Boulevard, so you walk in to find them: the Lake of Dreams, three acres of water closed in by the mountain and a 45-foot waterfall, with light, puppetry and music every half hour from dusk until 11.30pm. The tower is a 45-storey curve of bronze glass, the tallest building in Nevada when it opened in 2005.
The company's own studio, Wynn Design & Development, redid every room in 2022, in soft peach and ivory touched with gold, and even the entry room is about 640 sq ft (59 m²), with floor-to-ceiling windows and a marble bathroom. Wing Lei is the room to dress for: gold and jade, looking onto a garden of century-old pomegranate trees and a gilded dragon. Delilah adds Art Deco detail over several levels, as a supper club in the 1950s manner.

Wynn Tower Suite King
about 640 sq ft (59 m²)$929 a night
The 2022 room with a canopy over the bed, reached through the Tower Suites' own entrance, registration lobby and lifts, the part of the hotel Forbes rates Five-Star.
Fontainebleau Las Vegas is the tallest building in Nevada, a 67-storey, 735-foot (224 m) tower of blue glass; only the Strat's tower stands higher. It was topped out in 2008 as a sister to the 1954 Fontainebleau Miami Beach, stood unfinished for more than a decade, and opened in December 2023, with bow ties worked into the design as a nod to Morris Lapidus, the Miami hotel's architect.
Inside, everything is new. All 3,644 rooms are dressed in soft blues and gold, with floor-to-ceiling windows, and the Gold rooms add a marble-tiled bathroom. At the top of the tower, guests in the Fleur de Lis suites check in at a VIP lounge of their own. Gabriela Cámara's Cantina Contramar opened in March 2026 in a room designed by Frida Escobedo, and the MICHELIN Guide renewed the hotel's Key in its 2026 selection.

Gold King Strip Best View
about 545 sq ft (51 m²)$475 a night
A Gold room, so the marble-tiled bathroom, on the 54th floor or above, where the floor-to-ceiling glass looks down the north Strip past Resorts World to Encore and Sphere.
Bellagio is design as stagecraft. Steve Wynn borrowed the Lake Como village that gave it its name, put a 36-storey tower behind an 8.5-acre lake and opened it in 1998, aiming at travellers who would otherwise have chosen Paris, London or Venice. The lobby makes the case: more than 2,000 hand-blown glass flowers of Dale Chihuly's Fiori di Como cover its ceiling, and beside the front desk the 14,000 sq ft Conservatory changes five times a year, replanted for Lunar New Year and for each season. The pool courtyard is laid out like a Palladian villa.
The rooms have caught up. In 2021 the Gettys Group redid the main tower's 2,568 rooms, and in 2023 the Spa Tower's 819 rooms and 104 suites followed. At dinner, PRIME Steakhouse is a chocolate-brown and Tiffany-blue room opening on to a garden patio at the lake's edge.

Fountain View King
about 510 sq ft (47 m²)$417 a night
The Gettys Group's 2021 room, the same 510 sq ft (47 m²) as the entry Premier King, turned to face the lake, so the Lake Como idea is outside your window.
The Venetian Resort Las Vegas builds Renaissance Venice on the Boulevard and carries it indoors. Its front copies the Doge's Palace, the Rialto Bridge and a 315-foot Campanile; inside, a quarter-mile Grand Canal winds between the shops under a painted sky, and frescoes painted by hand cover the colonnade ceilings.
The suites are new. All of the roughly 4,000 were remodelled, the South Tower's in 2024 and the North Tower's in 2025, in ruby red and burnished metal that take their cue from Venetian Carnival costumes. Every one has a living area beside the bed, a few steps down in some layouts, and the Luxury King and Two Queen suites have a 130 sq ft (12 m²) marble bathroom with a Roman tub. On the South Tower's new top floor, the Loft suites rise to 15-foot ceilings behind floor-to-ceiling arched windows, and Thomas Keller's Bouchon, on the tenth floor, is Parisian, all blue velvet banquettes and old frescoes.

The remodelled suite in its Carnival reds, with the Roman tub in a 130 sq ft (12 m²) marble bathroom, and Sphere in view across the Expo roof, its LED skin moving after dark.
SAHARA Las Vegas keeps the Alexandria rooms that Gensler designed with Philippe Starck for SLS in 2014, and the Alexandria Iconic King, 490 sq ft (46 m²) with a banquette and a two-sink bathroom, puts that design on a smaller budget.
Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa does desert modern in sandstone and onyx, hung with crystal chandeliers. It redid 770 of its 795 rooms between 2019 and early 2020, and they face east to the Strip or west to the Calico Hills and the Red Rock mountains.
From about $250 a night
Questions people ask
Good questions about Las Vegas
Which Las Vegas design hotels have the newest rooms?
Of these five, Fontainebleau Las Vegas opened most recently, on 13 December 2023, so all 3,644 of its rooms date from then. The Venetian Resort Las Vegas remodelled all of its roughly 4,000 suites, the South Tower's in 2024 and the North Tower's in 2025, and Wynn Las Vegas redesigned its rooms in 2022. At Bellagio the main tower's rooms were remodelled in 2021 and the Spa Tower's in 2023. Most rooms at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas date from 2017 and 2018, so book it for the terraces and The Chandelier. Beyond this list, Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas finished redesigning every room in January 2024.
Is the Bellagio Conservatory free to visit?
Yes. The 14,000 sq ft Conservatory beside Bellagio's front desk is free and open to anyone walking in from the Strip, and so is the lobby beside it, under a ceiling of more than 2,000 hand-blown glass flowers, Dale Chihuly's Fiori di Como. The Conservatory is replanted five times a year, for Lunar New Year and for each season, and goes dark for about a week between displays: in the coming season from 8 to 13 November 2026 and from 3 to 8 January 2027.
Can you visit The Chandelier at The Cosmopolitan without staying there?
Yes. The Chandelier is a bar on three levels inside David Rockwell's walk-through chandelier of two million crystal beads, and walk-ups are welcome. The ground floor serves spirit-forward classics at any hour. Level 1.5, inside the crystals, pours the seasonal and more inventive drinks from 5pm to 2am, and Level 2 does champagne cocktails and punches until 3am, from 11am Monday to Thursday and from 9am Friday to Sunday. As at any bar in Nevada, you must be 21 to drink.
Is the Lake of Dreams show at Wynn free?
Yes, from the North Show Terrace. The three-acre Lake of Dreams at Wynn Las Vegas is hidden from the Boulevard behind a man-made mountain, with a 45-foot waterfall, and its show of light, puppetry and music runs every half hour from dusk until 11.30pm. For a seat with it, book the patio at SW Steakhouse, which sits at the water's edge, or take a drink at Bar Parasol.
What is the tallest hotel in Las Vegas?
Fontainebleau Las Vegas, at 67 storeys and 735 feet (224 m), is the tallest building in Nevada; only the Strat's tower stands higher. Its blue-glass tower was topped out in 2008 and opened as a hotel in December 2023. Wynn Las Vegas's curved 45-storey tower of bronze glass was the tallest building in Nevada when it opened in 2005, and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas has two glass towers of 50 and 52 storeys, its restaurants and pools stacked above the casino.
How did you choose these hotels?
Independently, through extensive research, trusted sources and first-hand visits. Hotels cannot pay to be included, and every one of the ten has to exist for a different reason.
