The Yeatman, for Ricardo Costa's two-star Origins menu and one of the deepest cellars in Portugal. The One Monumental Palace, for Le Monument's one-star tour of Portugal's regions on Avenida dos Aliados. Vila Foz Hotel & Spa, for Arnaldo Azevedo's starred Atlantic and vegetarian menus by the sea. All three starred rooms serve dinner Tuesday to Saturday only.
3 of our ten · Hand-pickedHotels cannot pay to be hereLast checked: October 2026
For food and drink in Porto, the question is whether the big dinner happens under your own roof. Three of our ten have a dining room with a Michelin star in the 2026 guide, each in a different part of the city: The Yeatman, with two, on the Gaia hillside among the port lodges; Le Monument at The One Monumental Palace, on Avenida dos Aliados; and the Vila Foz restaurant, on the Atlantic front in Foz. All three serve dinner only, Tuesday to Saturday, so build the stay around those nights and book the table when you book the room.
Then choose by what lies outside the door. From Aliados, the Baixa's restaurants are a few minutes' walk. From The Yeatman, the WOW district's tables are four or five minutes down the hill. Foz is half an hour from the old town on the 500 bus, so there a hotel that feeds you well, morning and night, matters most.
The Yeatman is the only hotel among our ten with two Michelin stars. Ricardo Costa has cooked here since it opened in 2010 and has held both stars since 2017, for a single Portuguese tasting menu, Origins, served as Chapter I or the longer Chapter II, in a dining room with the city spread out below. The pairings come from one of the deepest cellars in the country, the wine list holds Wine Spectator's Grand Award, and the hotel belongs to the family business behind Taylor's, Fonseca and Croft.
The rest of the house eats and drinks well too. The Orangerie serves lunch and dinner every day, Dick's Bar & Bistro pours port by the glass with light dishes until 23:00, and from June to late September the rooftop 360º Bar holds barbecues on Fridays and weekends. Guests praise breakfast, with live cooking stations on the Orangerie terrace.

Superior Deluxe Panoramic Room
€366 a night
A furnished terrace over the Douro and the old town, for a glass of port before an 18:30 sitting or after the last course.
The One Monumental Palace puts a starred dining room and a second restaurant inside the 1923 building on Avenida dos Aliados. Le Monument holds one Michelin star in the 2026 guide, its fourth in a row. Julien Montbabut, who won a star in Paris before moving here, cooks a tasting menu that travels Portugal region by region, as Passeio at six courses or Grande Viagem at ten, dinner only, Tuesday to Saturday.
Yakuza by Olivier, the modern Japanese room, has a lunch menu and is the easier midweek table, and the American Bar, where the building's period detail survives best, is the place for a drink first. Outside, the Baixa's restaurants are a short walk: Café Guarany, Brasão Aliados and Camilo are five minutes or less away, and all three open on Sundays and Mondays, when Le Monument is shut.

Superior Room
29 m²€285 a night
Take the entry room and spend the difference downstairs: the step up to City Views buys a view rather than space, and a starred dinner is the better use of the money.
Vila Foz Hotel & Spa gives Arnaldo Azevedo the palace's former ballroom, and he has held a Michelin star there since 2022, kept in the 2026 guide. He serves two tasting menus: Maresia, built around the coast, and Novo Mundo, entirely vegetarian. A two-seat counter faces the kitchen for anyone who wants to watch, and dinner runs Tuesday to Saturday.
Azevedo also runs Flor de Lis, the everyday restaurant, open daily with a terrace over the sea, and the bar serves champagne with oysters and afternoon tea, open until midnight and until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. Breakfast is served in Flor de Lis, where guests single out the oysters and the eggs cooked to order. The same chef has a bistro in Matosinhos market, a ride north on the 500 bus.

Onice Sea View Room
32 m²€292 a night
The cheapest category with the Atlantic guaranteed, from a small balcony: somewhere to end a long dinner in the old ballroom.
Six Senses Douro Valley cooks from its own organic garden at Vale de Abraão, around a wood-fired oven and a Josper grill, and its second room, Cozinha do Douro, is listed in the MICHELIN Guide. The self-pour Wine Library lines up the valley's small producers side by side.
Torel Avantgarde's Digby restaurant runs behind floor-to-ceiling glass over the pool terrace and the Douro, with João Figueirinhas, who cooked at The Yeatman, in the kitchen. The 35 euro weekday executive lunch is the easy way in.
From about €215 a night
Questions people ask
Good questions about Porto & the Douro
Which Porto hotels have Michelin-starred restaurants?
Three of our ten, all with distinctions in the 2026 guide. The Yeatman Gastronomic Restaurant holds two stars for Ricardo Costa's Origins menu, on the Gaia hillside. Le Monument at The One Monumental Palace holds one for Julien Montbabut's regional tasting menus on Avenida dos Aliados, and the Vila Foz restaurant at Vila Foz Hotel & Spa holds one for Arnaldo Azevedo's Atlantic and vegetarian menus in Foz do Douro. All three serve dinner only, Tuesday to Saturday.
How much is the tasting menu at The Yeatman?
Origins comes in two lengths: Chapter I at 260 euros a head and Chapter II at 300. Pairings from the house cellar are 130 euros, 260 for the prime flight, or 120 without alcohol. Dinner is Tuesday to Saturday, with seatings at 18:30, 19:30 and 20:30, for diners of 12 and over. For comparison, Le Monument's six-course Passeio is 140 euros and its ten-course Grande Viagem 180, and at Vila Foz Hotel & Spa the Maresia menu is 190 and the vegetarian Novo Mundo 150.
Are Porto's hotel restaurants open on Sundays and Mondays?
The three starred dining rooms are not: each serves dinner Tuesday to Saturday only, so plan the stay around those nights. The hotels still feed you well on the other two. At The Yeatman, The Orangerie serves lunch and dinner every day and Dick's Bar & Bistro serves light dishes until 23:00. Flor de Lis at Vila Foz Hotel & Spa is open daily. Near The One Monumental Palace, Café Guarany, Brasão Aliados and Camilo all open on Sundays and Mondays, five minutes or less away on foot.
Is breakfast included at these hotels?
It depends on the rate, so check what yours includes before you pay. At The Yeatman, breakfast comes with some rates, and otherwise the hotel charges 45 euros a person; guests praise its live cooking stations on the Orangerie terrace. At The One Monumental Palace, breakfast is a buffet at The Mezzanine, and guests praise that too. Vila Foz Hotel & Spa serves breakfast in Flor de Lis, where guests single out the oysters and the eggs cooked to order.
Does any Porto hotel restaurant have a vegetarian tasting menu?
Vila Foz Hotel & Spa does. Arnaldo Azevedo's starred dining room serves Novo Mundo, an entirely vegetarian tasting menu at 150 euros, alongside Maresia, built around the coast, at 190. There is a 140 euro six-wine pairing, and a two-seat counter facing the kitchen at 400 euros a head. Dinner runs Tuesday to Saturday, and guests report missing out on tables, so reserve as early as you can.
How did you choose these hotels?
Independently, through extensive research, trusted sources and first-hand visits. Hotels cannot pay to be included, and every one of the ten has to exist for a different reason.
