Tenerife airport transfers

Tenerife has two airports at opposite ends of the island, and which one you land at decides the journey more than anything else. This page sets out every realistic way from each to our ten hotels, with the bus timetables, the official taxi meter and the typical drive to each door.

The short answer

Land at Tenerife South (TFS) for Costa Adeje and the west coast: our hotels there are 20 to 31 minutes away by road, and TITSA's line 40 runs every half hour by day to Costa Adeje bus station in 29 to 44 minutes. Land at Tenerife North (TFN) for Puerto de la Cruz: line 30 reaches the Jardín Botánico stop in 23 to 28 minutes for a guide fare of €4.75, and a taxi takes about 22 to 27 minutes. For the hillside villas, the west-coast resorts and late arrivals, a private transfer booked ahead is the simplest answer.

  • TFSTenerife South (TFS). Serves Costa Adeje, Golf Costa Adeje and the Guía de Isora coast: Bahía del Duque is about 20 minutes away and Palacio de Isora 31.
  • TFNTenerife North (TFN). Serves Puerto de la Cruz and the north-west: Hotel Botánico is about 22 minutes away and Hotel San Roque in Garachico 47.

Every way in, timed and priced

TITSA line 40 bus to Costa Adeje

TFS
Time
29 to 44 minutes to Costa Adeje bus station, every 30 to 40 minutes, 06:30 to 21:40
Price
Paid on board or with a Ten+ card; TITSA sets the fare

The cheap way to the Costa Adeje coast, stopping at Los Cristianos on the way. It ends at the bus station, about 2.7 km from Bahía del Duque, so most of our southern guests still need a taxi for the last stretch.

TITSA line 711 night bus

TFS
Time
24 to 33 minutes to Costa Adeje bus station; nine departures from 23:18 to 04:52
Price
TITSA fare, as for line 40

Covers the hours after line 40 stops, every night of the week. Useful if you are travelling light; with a family and bags at one in the morning, a driver waiting in arrivals is the better answer.

TITSA line 30 bus to Puerto de la Cruz

TFN
Time
23 to 28 minutes to the Jardín Botánico stop; 19 departures on weekdays from 07:30 to 23:20, 14 at weekends
Price
€4.75 airport to Puerto de la Cruz (Aena guide fare)

The genuinely good bus on the island for our guests: it stops 160 metres from Hotel Botánico and about 270 metres from Gran Hotel Taoro.

TITSA line 343 between the airports

TFSTFN
Time
About 50 minutes non-stop between the airports; four a day each way
Price
€9.70 between the airports, €13.55 Tenerife South to Puerto de la Cruz, €3.70 Tenerife South to Costa Adeje (Aena guide fares)

The link if you land at the 'wrong' airport: from Tenerife South it reaches the Jardín Botánico stop in 85 minutes. With four buses a day, check the times before you fly.

Metered taxi

TFSTFN
Time
20 to 31 minutes to the Costa Adeje and Guía de Isora hotels from TFS; 22 to 27 minutes to Puerto de la Cruz from TFN
Price
Canary interurban meter: €3.85 for the first 1.5 km, then €1.35 a km by day (€4.25 and €1.55 at night, Sundays and holidays), plus €2.10 from the airport

Always at the rank on Floor 0 in arrivals, and fair value for two or three people on the short runs. On the meter, Tenerife South to Bahía del Duque works out at about €35 by day.

Private transfer booked ahead

TFSTFN
Time
The drive itself: 20 to 31 minutes to our southern hotels, 22 to 27 to Puerto de la Cruz
Price
Fixed when you book; the widget shows the live price

The driver tracks your flight and meets you in arrivals with a name sign, so a delay costs nothing. Our pick for the hillside villas, the west-coast resorts, late landings and families with luggage.

Hire car

TFSTFN
Time
Desks in both terminals; then the same drive as a taxi
Price
From €84 a week manual, €112 automatic, for a June 2027 week at Tenerife South (Expedia, read 10 October 2026)

Worth it at most of our hotels, where Teide, Masca and La Orotava are drives. Our car hire page has the airports, the costs and the catches.

From the airport to our ten hotels

Which airport to fly into

Tenerife South for Costa Adeje, Golf Costa Adeje and the Guía de Isora coast; Tenerife North for Puerto de la Cruz and Garachico. Our six southern hotels are 20 to 31 minutes from Tenerife South and 64 to 73 minutes from Tenerife North. The two hotels in Puerto de la Cruz are 22 and 27 minutes from Tenerife North and 64 and 67 from Tenerife South.

If your flight lands at the other airport, the 343 bus runs between the two in about 50 minutes, four times a day, and carries on to Costa Adeje or Puerto de la Cruz. Hacienda del Conde, in Buenavista del Norte, is 60 minutes from Tenerife North and 61 from Tenerife South, so take whichever flight suits you.

TFN to Puerto de la Cruz hotels

Either airport to Hacienda del Conde

The airport buses in detail

Yes. TITSA's line 40 leaves the stop on Floor 0 in arrivals every 30 minutes from 06:30, and every 30 to 40 minutes in the afternoon, until 21:40, seven days a week. It calls at Los Cristianos and ends at Costa Adeje bus station in 29 to 44 minutes. From there Bahía del Duque is 2.7 km, so plan on a short taxi. The four daily 343s do the same run in 20 minutes.

At Tenerife North, buses leave from Floor -1. Line 30 runs to Puerto de la Cruz, with 19 departures on weekdays and 14 at weekends, and stops at Jardín Botánico, 160 metres from Hotel Botánico. No airport bus goes near Abama, Palacio de Isora, Royal River, Royal Garden Villas or Garachico. Aena publishes guide fares and says TITSA's are the ones that count.

Taxis: the official meter

There are no fixed airport fares to our hotels: island taxis run on the Canary Government's interurban meter, published in the Boletín Oficial de Canarias in March 2023. By day it is €3.85 for the first 1.5 km and €1.35 a km after that; from 22:00 to 06:00, on Sundays and on holidays it is €4.25 and €1.55. Every trip from an airport adds €2.10.

On those rates, the 23 km from Tenerife South to Bahía del Duque comes to about €35 by day and €40 at night, and the 25 km from Tenerife North to Hotel Botánico to about €38 by day. Take a taxi only from the signed rank in arrivals, as Aena advises, and ask for a receipt.

Day (06:00 to 22:00, weekdays)
€3.85 first 1.5 km, then €1.35 a km
Night, Sundays, holidays
€4.25 first 1.5 km, then €1.55 a km
Airport supplement
€2.10
TFS to Bahía del Duque on the meter
about €35 by day, €40 at night
TFN to Hotel Botánico on the meter
about €38 by day

Landing late, or with children and luggage

At Tenerife South the 711 night bus leaves for Costa Adeje at 23:18, 23:48, 00:17, 01:02, 01:37, 02:42, 03:22, 04:12 and 04:52. At Tenerife North the last line 30 bus leaves at 23:20.

This is where a private transfer earns its keep. A pre-booked driver tracks the flight, waits in arrivals with your name on a sign, and the price is fixed when you book, so a two-hour delay changes nothing. Tell them how many children and seats you need when you book. It is our pick for Royal River, Royal Garden Villas, Abama, Palacio de Isora and Hotel San Roque at any hour.

Going back to the airport

Line 40 from Costa Adeje bus station reaches Tenerife South in 26 minutes, with arrivals at the airport from 05:56 to 22:06. From Puerto de la Cruz, line 30 runs back to Tenerife North through the day, the last arriving at 23:19 on weekdays. For an early flight, ask the hotel to call a taxi the night before, or book the return transfer with the outward one: the price is fixed in the same way, and the driver collects you from the hotel.
