Hotel Veintiuno, from about €85 with breakfast depending on the rate, for an adults-only old house by the cathedral in Las Palmas; the Parador de Cruz de Tejeda, from about €100 room only, for a caldera view the entry room can have; and Bull Reina Isabel & Spa, from about €145 with breakfast, for Las Canteras and a free spa.
3 of our ten · Hand-pickedHotels cannot pay to be hereLast checked: October 2026
Our ten Gran Canaria hotels run from about €85 a night to over €500, and these three are the least expensive: Hotel Veintiuno from about €85, the Parador de Cruz de Tejeda from about €100 and Bull Reina Isabel & Spa from about €145. Read the rate before you compare them. At Veintiuno breakfast depends on the rate you book, the Parador's starting price is for the room alone, with breakfast extra, and Bull includes breakfast on every rate. All three include the 7% IGIC, the islands' sales tax, and add no tourist tax.
Then choose by the trip, because each one is a different island. Veintiuno is the old town of Las Palmas on foot. Bull is the city beach, with a free spa and a heated pool on the roof. The Parador is the mountains, with the caldera outside and a hire car to reach it. For the lowest rates come in May, June, September or October before the late-October half-term; Christmas, New Year, February and Easter are dearest.
From about €85 a night, the lowest starting price of our ten, Hotel Veintiuno gives you an 18th-century house on a pedestrian street of Vegueta, about 50 metres from the cathedral of Santa Ana, with seventeen rooms for guests of 16 and over. The money goes into the house rather than the extras: a courtyard, stone walls and 19th-century encaustic tiles, and on the roof a small unheated plunge pool with loungers and an honesty bar, facing the cathedral's towers and dome and open to residents from 9am to 11pm.
Read the rate for breakfast: made to order from 8 to 10.30am, it comes with some rates and not others. There is no restaurant, room service or car park, and the quarter covers the first two: Calle Armas, Calle Pelota and Calle Mendizábal, Vegueta's eating streets, start three or four minutes away. Drivers use the public car park at the Mercado de Vegueta, five minutes' walk.

Deluxe Interior
about 27 m²€108 a night
About 27 m² with a 180 cm king bed, facing inwards onto the courtyard or the light well, the quiet side, and larger than the 22 m² Deluxe Exterior for less money.
On a rate without breakfast, Cool Beans, three minutes' walk, opens every day, and the bars in the Mercado de Vegueta serve churros and coffee early, Monday to Saturday.
The Parador de Cruz de Tejeda sells the island's interior from about €100 a night. It is a state-run parador about 1,500 metres up on the pass, and most of its rooms, though not all, look over the Tejeda caldera, with the Roque Bentayga in the middle of the view and the Roque Nublo on the skyline. The view is not a paid upgrade: the entry Standard Double can have it, and the dearer categories buy space instead. Trails leave from the door, parking is free, and on cold evenings the guests' lounge has its fireplaces.
The starting price is for the room alone. Breakfast, a buffet from 7.45am, is extra, and the only pool is the spa's, on a 90-minute circuit at €35 a person that needs booking. Budget for a hire car as well: the airport is 52 minutes away by road off-peak, on mountain bends.

Standard Double
€101 a night
The entry category, and most face the caldera: the hotel pictures one with a terrace towards the Roque Nublo, and the dearer rooms add space rather than a better view.
Bull Reina Isabel & Spa is the dearest of these three, from about €145 a night, and the one that puts the most into the price. Every rate includes breakfast, a buffet with live cooking, and half board is the only other choice. Every guest uses the spa free and without limit: a hydrotherapy pool behind glass over the bay and a sauna, with under-16s welcome alongside an adult in the first two hours. On the roof, a heated pool and sun terrace face along the beach towards La Isleta, and on the sand of Las Canteras, three minutes from the street door, the hotel's loungers and umbrellas are free to its guests.
What costs extra is short: spa treatments, half board at about €42 a night for two, and €2 to swap your beach towel. Parking is free, though limited and not bookable, and every one of the 225 rooms has a balcony.

Double Sea View Room
€180 a night
The plain Double's size and balcony, on the beach side instead of the street; the Junior Suite costs about the same but faces the city.
Santa Catalina, a Royal Hideaway Hotel, is the next of our ten up the price list, from about €170 a night, room only: the city's grand hotel, in the palm park of Parque Doramas, and the only hotel on Gran Canaria with two MICHELIN-starred restaurants in the 2026 guide.
For a family, Hotel Cordial Mogán Playa starts at about €190 a night with breakfast, with a mini club for ages 4 to 12 and Family Rooms of 63 m² with two bathrooms. Playa de Mogán is four minutes on foot from its garden gate.

Questions people ask
Good questions about Gran Canaria
How much does a good hotel in Gran Canaria cost a night?
Only in Mogán, the municipality that takes in Puerto de Mogán, at €0.15 per person per night. The Canary Islands' high court declared it void in July 2026, but the ruling is not final and the council says the tax applies until it is, so a stay there may still be charged it. None of these three adds one: Hotel Veintiuno and Bull Reina Isabel & Spa are in Las Palmas and the Parador de Cruz de Tejeda in Tejeda, and neither council charges it. IGIC, at 7%, is already in the price.
When is the cheapest time to stay in Gran Canaria?
Rates follow the northern winter, so the cheapest weeks fall in May and June, and in September and October up to the English half-term, 25 to 29 October 2027 in Surrey. The dearest are Christmas and New Year, the February half-terms, the Las Palmas carnival, from 22 January to 28 February 2027, and Easter, on 28 March 2027. Bull Reina Isabel & Spa is usually cheapest in May and October and dearest in February; at the Parador de Cruz de Tejeda a quiet midweek night in June starts at about €100, against about €200 at busy times.
Which of these hotels work without a car?
Hotel Veintiuno and Bull Reina Isabel & Spa, both in Las Palmas. Global's line 60 leaves the airport every half hour by day: for Veintiuno, ride to Teatro Pérez Galdós, eight minutes' walk from the door; for Bull, ride to the Santa Catalina bus station, 30 minutes and €2.95, then walk ten minutes. City bus line 1 links the Teatro stop with Las Canteras, so the old town and the beach are one ride apart. The Parador de Cruz de Tejeda is best with a hire car, and parking there is free: the airport is 52 minutes away by road off-peak, on mountain bends.
How did you choose these hotels?
Independently, through extensive research, trusted sources and first-hand visits. Hotels cannot pay to be included, and every one of the ten has to exist for a different reason.
