Breakfast

Breakfast is a buffet in the Ocean Restaurant on the main floor, from 07:30 to 10:30, with tropical fruit, wholegrain cereals, artisan breads and hot and cold drinks. The standard rate is room only: the bed-and-breakfast rate for the same June night cost about €54 more for two, and the half-board rates include it too. SURU, in the hotel, opens at 10:30. Outside, the first of the places above to open is El Senador next door, whose beach bar serves coffee and home-made crêpes and waffles from €8, from 11:00, on the beachfront.

What to skip

The Café del Mar on the promenade, at the Lopesan Costa Meloneras, shares its name with the Ibiza sunset bar, but it is a club restaurant with cabaret, circus and acrobatic shows from 20:00 or 21:30 every night. Go for the show, not for a quiet drink at sunset; for that, SURU and Rooftop Faro are in the hotel.
