The catch at Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas
The quiet here is real, and so is the distance that buys it. None of what follows is hidden, and none of it outweighs what the hotel does well, but each point shapes a booking: how far the centre of the Strip is, what lies between the hotel and everything next door, what the nightly fee covers, when the pool is open, and how far the price climbs when the town is busy.
On our shortlists
The hotel is at the south end of the Strip, and the centre is a taxi ride away
The hotel's own driveway leaves Las Vegas Boulevard just south of Mandalay Bay's main entrance, near the bottom of the Strip. On foot, Luxor is 12 minutes north, New York-New York 21, T-Mobile Arena 26, the MGM Grand 29 and the Bellagio fountains 39, and the covered way north runs through Mandalay Bay, the Mandalay Place mall and Luxor. A free tram links Mandalay Bay with Luxor and Excalibur, and goes no further. Distance from the centre of the Strip is the complaint that recurs most among guests who otherwise praise the hotel, and most evenings in the centre start in a taxi.
What to do. Spend the days at this end: the Shark Reef, Mandalay Bay Beach in season and a game at Allegiant Stadium, 24 minutes on foot. For Luxor and Excalibur, walk 8 minutes to Mandalay Bay's tram station; for the centre, take a taxi from the hotel's own driveway.
Beyond the hotel's own few tables, the way to everything runs past Mandalay Bay's casino
Inside the hotel there is no casino and no smoking, and the lifts stop only at its floors. Its restaurants are few, though: Bourbon Steak is the only one serving dinner, Veranda closes at 3pm, and PRESS turns to small plates and cocktails in the evening. For any other dinner, a show, the Shark Reef or the shops, the way leads into Mandalay Bay, where most restaurants open off the casino floor, and Nevada's indoor smoking ban does not cover casino gaming floors. The step from the calm of the Four Seasons into the noise and crowds next door is a contrast guests mention again and again.
What to do. Book Bourbon Steak ahead for the night you want to stay in, and remember in-room dining, which runs around the clock. For a dinner next door away from the slot machines, Border Grill looks over Mandalay Bay Beach rather than the casino.
A $55 resort fee is added to every night, and parking is valet only
The resort fee is $55 a night plus tax, and it applies to every stay whether you use what it covers or not: local, toll-free and domestic long-distance calls, a morning fitness programme, streaming in the room, and entry to Mandalay Bay's pools, wave pool and lazy river. Wi-Fi is complimentary in its own right. The wave pool and lazy river close in the cooler months, so a winter stay pays for a beach that is partly shut. On the $680 Stadium View Room in mid-May, tax and the fee together added $153 to a one-night bill. Parking is valet only, and charged by the night.
What to do. Read every nightly price with the fee and tax added. Come from the airport by taxi, 10 to 15 minutes outside the rush, unless you plan to drive out of town.
The pool is the hotel's own, but it is small and closes for the winter
The Four Seasons pool is a single pool and hot tub in a palm garden, kept for hotel guests, with loungers on a first come, first served basis and eight cabanas booked at extra cost. It is calm rather than big, and guests who compare it with the Strip's large pool complexes find it small. It is also seasonal. It was closed over the winter of 2024 to 2025, due to reopen in March, and in mid-November 2025 it opened only from 9am to 5pm, against 8am to 7pm in June 2026. Mandalay Bay's wave pool and lazy river, the big draw next door, close in the cooler months too.
What to do. If the pool is part of the reason for the trip, come between March and October. In summer, use both: the hotel's pool for the hourly Evian spritzes and frozen fruit skewers, and Mandalay Bay Beach, covered by the fee, for the wave pool and the sand.
The price follows the convention and event calendar more than the season
Rates here swing with what is on in town. For the same Stadium View Room, before tax and the fee, a quiet Tuesday in mid-July 2027 was $405 and a Tuesday in early December 2026 $420, while Saturday 21 November 2026, the night of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, was $1,020, two and a half times that July Tuesday. Weekends cost more too: Saturday 17 July 2027 was $580, about 40 per cent above the Tuesday. Mandalay Bay's convention centre is next door, and Allegiant Stadium is across the interstate.
What to do. Price several dates before you fix the trip. Midweek nights in July and early December cost well under half a Grand Prix night, and race week and the weeks of big conventions are worth avoiding unless they are the reason you are coming.
Who should skip it
Anyone who wants to step out of the door into the middle of the Strip, since the centre is a taxi ride and the covered way north runs through other resorts' casinos. Anyone who wants a big pool scene, or the hotel's own pool in winter. And anyone who will mind a $55 nightly fee and tax on top of rooms from about $380 midweek.
Who should book it anyway
Anyone who wants Las Vegas on call without living in it. There is no casino, no slot machine and no smoking here, the lifts stop only at the hotel's floors, and through one door are Mandalay Bay's restaurants, shows, Shark Reef and beach. It suits non-gamblers, spa weekends at the Forbes Five-Star Spa and Nail Bar, families who want Mandalay Bay Beach by day and a quiet corridor at night, and anyone in town for a game at Allegiant Stadium. Book a Strip View Room, keep Bourbon Steak for one night, and let a taxi handle the centre of the Strip.
The catch elsewhere in Las Vegas
- BellagioCenter Strip
A $55 nightly resort fee plus tax is added to every stay, and parking is extra: hotel guests pay $20 a day to self-park and $40 for valet.
- Wynn Las VegasNorth Strip
A $55 nightly resort fee plus tax is added to every room, on top of rates that start around $400 before tax midweek and climb far higher in convention and event weeks.
- Caesars PalaceCenter Strip
A $54.95 nightly resort fee plus tax covers only Wi-Fi for two devices, local calls and the gym for two, and parking is extra: $20 a day to self-park and $50 for valet.
- Fontainebleau Las VegasNorth Strip
It stands at the north end of the Strip. The Bellagio fountains are about 45 minutes' walk (3.2 km) and the Venetian 34 minutes, and the Vegas Loop station downstairs runs to the Convention Center, Wynn and Encore, Resorts World and Westgate rather than the centre Strip, so the middle of the Strip means a taxi.
- The Cosmopolitan of Las VegasCenter Strip
A $55 nightly resort fee plus tax is added to every stay, and parking is extra: hotel guests pay $20 a day to self-park and $40 for valet.
- The Venetian Resort Las VegasCenter Strip
A $55 nightly resort fee plus tax is added to every stay. It covers in-suite Wi-Fi, the Canyon Ranch gym for two, local calls and boarding-pass printing, but not the spa, and self-parking costs hotel guests another $20 a day, valet $40.
- Circa Resort & CasinoDowntown, Fremont Street
A $50 nightly resort fee plus tax goes on every room, and weekends cost far more than midweek: in the week of 18 May 2027 a Single King was $169 on the Tuesday, $479 on the Friday and $579 on the Saturday, before tax and the fee.
- Red Rock Casino Resort & SpaSummerlin
The Strip is a drive away. The Bellagio fountains are 24 minutes by car and Fremont Street 21, there is no shuttle, and the bus from Downtown Summerlin takes about 45 minutes to reach even the Strip's north end.
- SAHARA Las VegasNorth Strip
It is the far north end of the Strip. From the Strip entrance the Bellagio fountains are about 50 minutes' walk and the LINQ Promenade about 46, so plan on the Monorail, whose station is at the back of the resort, or a car.

Book the Four Seasons for Las Vegas on call and none of it in the corridor: no casino, no smoke, a guests-only pool and a Five-Star spa. Pay the step to a Strip View Room, and budget for taxis to the centre of the Strip.
