Breakfast and lunch café, from 7am · $
Mandalay Bay's breakfast café: from its lobby, past the guest lifts, follow the walkway along the left side of the casino and it is on the left, with windows onto the gardens outside. It serves breakfast and lunch every day from 7am to 2pm: order the crunchy French toast, thick brioche coated in cornflakes with raspberries and whipped cream, or the croque madame, and there are bottomless mimosas for a slow morning. It is a cheaper breakfast than Veranda, and it takes orders ahead through the resort's mobile ordering.

Irish pub with live music · $
Up the escalator from Mandalay Bay's casino into Mandalay Place, on the left: a pub built from old bars salvaged and restored in County Wicklow and shipped over, among them a shop bar that began in the 1880s as Foley's in Timoleague, West Cork. It opens every day from 8am, with an Irish breakfast until 11am, then fish and chips, cottage pie and beef and Guinness stew until midnight. Bands play from 8pm to midnight, Tuesday to Sunday, and the Whiskey Bar, through a salvaged Georgian archway, is the place for a dram.
