Where to eat at and around Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort

The resort feeds itself well. Capa, the Spanish steakhouse on the 17th floor, serves dinner from 5pm to 10pm with the Magic Kingdom fireworks in view from its terrace, and Ravello, the Italian dining room, does breakfast and dinner; both are in the MICHELIN Guide. The Lakehouse by the lake and Plancha at the golf clubhouse serve from 11am to 6pm (Plancha does brunch from 10am to 4pm on Sundays), the Lobby Bar has a dinner menu until 11pm, Epilogue is an adults-only speakeasy from Thursday to Saturday, and Lickety Split in the lobby sells coffee, pastries and gelato from 6.30am. Children 5 and under eat free at Ravello, Plancha, The Lakehouse and the Lobby Bar with a paying adult. Beyond the gates nothing is within walking distance, so every table below is a drive of 7 to 15 minutes with the roads clear, by car, by taxi or, for Disney Springs, on the resort's paid transfer. Disney Springs and Disney's own hotels give diners free self-parking.

Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort: The Magic Kingdom fireworks from Capa's terrace
Michelin recommendedSpanish steakhouse and bar on the 17th floor, with terraces facing the Magic Kingdom fireworksDinner only

Capa is the resort's top floor: a Spanish steakhouse with an open kitchen and a wood-fired grill, a raw bar, Ibérico pork from Extremadura and dry-aged and Wagyu beef, and two outdoor terraces. The terraces are why you book. The Magic Kingdom fireworks are in view from them, so a table timed for the show gives you the fireworks without a park ticket or a bus home. The dining room serves from 5pm to 10pm and the bar stays open until 11pm; the 31 outdoor seats belong to the bar, so book a dinner table ahead and step out onto the terrace when the show starts.

Our verdict

Book it when the resort should be half the holiday: the water park and kids' club for the children, Oasis, the spa and Capa for the adults, and early entry to the parks. Ask for a Park View Room, and plan park days around the hourly coach.
