What we looked for

On Fuerteventura the adults-only question is really a question of where. The island is long, Corralejo in the north is about 105 minutes by car from Morro Jable in the south, and our four adults-only hotels sit in four different places, each with its own kind of grown-up week. Secrets is the one in the north, with the Corralejo dunes just across the road and the boats to Lobos leaving from the harbour. Elba Palace is a small, calm hotel inside a golf estate, 16 minutes from the airport. ZEL is on the windsurf and kite coast at Sotavento, for couples who want to be on the water. Royal Palm is on Jandía's long white beaches, around a spa with a heated indoor pool free to every guest.

All four set the age at 16. Choose by the day you want: sea views and dunes, golf, wind, or beach and spa.

Secrets Bahía Real Resort & Spa takes guests from 16, and it is built for long, unhurried days: 243 rooms and suites, no standard doubles, and an entry Junior Suite of 36 m² with a furnished balcony. Most rooms look out to sea towards Isla de Lobos and Lanzarote. The gardens hold two large pools and run down to Playa de las Agujas, a public cove of fine sand three minutes from the rooms, and the Corralejo Dunes Natural Park begins about 100 m to the south, across the road.

Evenings are the other draw. There are seven restaurants, among them Chozo for Canarian and Majorero cooking and Himitsu for teppanyaki and sushi, live music every night, and the four à la carte dinners come with the all-inclusive. Corralejo's harbour, where the boats leave for Lobos, is a short taxi ride away.

Elba Palace Golf Boutique Hotel is adults only from 16 and has 62 rooms, which makes it the most intimate of the four. Its colonial-style building, all wooden balconies and towers around a Canarian courtyard, doubles as the clubhouse of the Fuerteventura Golf Club, the island's first 18-hole course. The estate around it is residential and quiet.

The days are calm: a heated pool with Balinese beds, a sauna, hot tub and steam room, and the first tee steps from reception. Evenings are dressed up. In summer dinner moves into the courtyard, under the stars with live music, the Piano Bar plays until midnight, and the cellar keeps more than 300 wines. The airport is 16 minutes away, and a free shuttle takes guests to the beach stop by the Atlántico centre at Caleta de Fuste.

ZEL Fuerteventura opened in May 2026 as the first Canary Islands hotel of ZEL, the brand Meliá created with Rafa Nadal, and it takes adults only, from 16. It has 142 rooms and suites around gardens and a central patio, every one with a balcony or terrace, and the rooms start at 48 m².

This is the adults-only hotel for couples who want to do things. The René Egli centre on Playa Barca, which teaches kitesurfing, windsurfing and wing foiling, is 4 minutes' walk through the palm garden, on the beach where René Egli has organised a World Cup since 1986. Back at the hotel the heated infinity pool looks out over the Atlantic, the gym is open 24 hours and the studio runs HIIT, Pound and barre classes, then there are cocktails at Voltaje. Costa Calma, the nearest town, is 6 minutes by car.

Royal Palm Resort & Spa is adults only from 16, with 317 rooms and 17 suites stepping down from the road to Playa de Esquinzo on the Jandía coast. All the doubles share the same 35 m² and each has a balcony or terrace. Half board, with breakfast and a dinner buffet, is the way to book it.

The spa sets the pace of the week. The hotel puts it at more than 2,000 m², and every guest can use the heated indoor pool, with its jets, Jacuzzi and sun terrace, and the gym at no charge from 08:00 to 20:00. The sauna circuit, four saunas, a steam bath and a Himalayan salt room, costs €25 and opens on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons. Outside, the 941 m² Salina pool is the main one, and the heated Vulcano pool sits on the lowest terrace, by the hotel's gate and ten steps down to the sand.
