El Pellizco by Rigoberto Almeida
7 min by carCreative Canarian cooking, tasting menus · €€€€
Rigoberto Almeida, a Cuban-born chef of Canarian family, opened this restaurant in Costa Calma in December 2023 with Yahimara Ferrand, who directs the restaurant. It is in the MICHELIN Guide, without a star, and recommended in the 2026 Guía Repsol. The two tasting menus are built on Fuerteventura: La Majorera, at €80 before drinks, runs from goat crackling and pejín in island escabeche through a trilogy of cheese to a goat dessert; La Guantanamera, at €120, adds a sea sequence with an airy octopus wafer and goat charcuterie inland. Open from 2pm; closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Book ahead: the dining room seats 16.

Our verdict
A five-star base for a family beach week, with slides by the pool and, at spring tides, the lagoon on the doorstep. Check availability for the Suite, and time the dates to René Egli's lagoon calendar.
