Monaco climbs from the sea in terraces, so nearly every hotel has a view somewhere, and the room you book decides whether it is yours. Inside the principality the outlook is sold by category: the entry Superior at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo looks into the patio, the four cheapest categories at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo face the square or a courtyard, and at the Columbus Hotel Monte-Carlo the sea straight ahead starts with the Riviera Deluxe. Over the border in France it is simpler. At Monte-Carlo Beach and The Maybourne Riviera every category faces the sea, one at the water's edge and one on a cliff some 300 metres above it, and Cap Estel has a whole peninsula to itself.
Choose what you want to look at first: Monaco from above, the harbour and the Rock, the Casino, or nothing but sea. Then book the named view category, not just the hotel. The three hotels in France close for the winter, so check your dates.
The Maybourne Riviera stands some 300 metres above the sea on the Grande Corniche at Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, a cascade of white terraces by Jean-Michel Wilmotte, and the whole building is turned to the view. All 65 suites and studios have a sea-facing terrace of 15 square metres or more, and every category the hotel sells comes with a sea or panoramic view. Almost every room looks straight down on Monaco, as the infinity pool does, with Cap Martin beside it and Italy beyond on a clear day.
The view comes with distance. The Casino is ten minutes down the hairpins by car, and the complimentary shuttle runs to and from Monaco, so evenings can be spent looking at the principality rather than walking it. For dinner with the panorama, abc kitchens riviera has the top floor.

Panoramic Sea View Studio
50 m²
Ten square metres more than the entry studio and the panoramic line over the Riviera coastline: the most view for the least money below the suites.
The Hôtel de Paris is the one hotel on the Place du Casino, and its rooms are sold by what the window shows. Three room categories face the patio or the city. Three face the harbour or the sea, at 42 or 43 square metres: the Exclusive Room, sea view, the Exclusive Room, harbour view and the Exclusive Room, sea view with terrace. One, the Exclusive Room, casino view, looks at the Casino de Monte-Carlo and the coast, at 30 square metres. The harbour side is the quieter one too.
Higher up the ladder, the Corner Suite, sea view with terrace puts the Prince's Palace, the harbour and the sea in one window. The roof shares the view: Le Grill, on the eighth floor, slides its roof open in summer and looks out as far as Italy, and the heated rooftop pool, open to house guests from 16, looks over the harbour.
The room to book
Exclusive Room, sea view with terrace
43 m²
Harbour and sea from the only terrace below suite level, in the joint largest room category at 43 square metres, on floors 1 to 6.
The Hermitage stands on Square Beaumarchais, a terrace down from the Place du Casino with the port beneath it, so its sea side looks out over the harbour. That view belongs to the categories with sea view in their name. The four cheapest room categories face the square or an inner courtyard, so the sea starts with the 31 square metre Exclusive Room, sea view, which sees the harbour and the sea through a window.
The terrace rooms are the ones to want. The Exclusive Room, sea view with terrace, the Junior Suite, sea view with terrace, the Suite, sea view with terrace and the Junior Suite, sea view with jacuzzi are all in the Midi wing, and all look over the harbour and the sea. The Prince's Palace is named in the view of two Diamond Suites, the Presidential and the sea view with jacuzzi. Downstairs, Pavyllon has a terrace over the harbour as well.

Exclusive Room, sea view with terrace
37 m²
The cheapest category with a terrace you can sit on over the harbour: 37 square metres, six more than the plain sea-view Exclusive, and only in the Midi wing.
Cap Estel has a two-hectare peninsula at Èze-Bord-de-Mer to itself, with the sea on three sides. The grounds drop from the gate to the water, which keeps the coast road and the railway out of sight from most of the estate, and the infinity pool sits at the very tip of the cape, its far edge seeming to meet the Mediterranean.
With 20 rooms and suites in four buildings, the outlook depends on where you sleep. The Le Parc suites sit in the sea wall, with balconies over the waves. Every suite in the Les Jardins pavilion has a terrace or balcony, and the first-floor pair, 810 and 820, look 180 degrees over the gardens and the sea. In the Manor House, Deluxe rooms 114 and 116 have the sea in the window, and 124 and 126 add a 15 square metre terrace over the garden and the sea.

Suites 810, 820, Les Jardins
60 m²
A 15 square metre south-facing terrace with a 180-degree sweep over the gardens and the sea, in the largest Jardins suite, on the pavilion's first floor.
Monte-Carlo Beach is a long, low 1929 building on its own headland just over the French border, with the water immediately in front, and here the view is not something you pay extra for. Every one of the eight categories is sold with a sea view, from the 30 square metre Exclusive Room to Villa La Vigie on the point, so the step up buys floor area and outdoor space instead. The Duplex Suite's panoramic loggia looks at the sea, the beach and the pool.
Some of the best outlooks are at the table. In summer, La Vigie Zanoni, on the rocky point and reopening in spring 2027, is a white terrace with nothing between you and the sea, and Elsa's 1930s terrace sits above the water. The hotel is seasonal, open from 13 April to 11 October in 2026, so this is a view for spring, summer and early autumn.

Junior Suite - Sea View
50 m²
With the sea in every room, pay for space: 50 square metres with a lounge and a loggia, and from the second floor a longer line over the pool deck to the bay.
The Columbus is the sea view on a sensible budget, with the lowest entry rate of our ten. It sits in Fontvieille, on the far side of the Rock, looking over the Princess Grace Rose Garden, and what you see depends entirely on the category. The Riviera Room looks at the pool and the sea. The Riviera Deluxe, ten rooms, has the sea straight ahead from its own terrace, and the Queen Lifestyle Suite adds a sofa to the same outlook. The Riviera Suite is the one category whose outlook can include the Rock of Monaco as well as the sea.
The Superior faces either the rose garden or a residential street, and the Deluxe looks over the garden with a partial sea view, so book a named sea-view category. The heated outdoor pool, open from mid-April to early November, has a sea view of its own.

Riviera Deluxe Room
25 m²
The lowest category with the sea straight ahead from your own terrace: 25 square metres, a queen bed, and only ten of them.
Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort sells every room category at 44 square metres, so the price difference is the outlook: the Exclusive Room, sea view looks at the sea and the lagoon gardens, and the suites on the ninth and tenth floors all face the sea.
Fairmont Monte Carlo is the view for race week: its Hairpin City View rooms have a terrace over the Grand Prix hairpin. The rest of the year, the Signature Sea View puts the same 35 square metre room on the higher floors, facing the Mediterranean.
From about €250 a night
Questions people ask
Good questions about Monaco & around
Which hotels in Monaco have a sea view from every room?
Of our ten, two, and both are just over the border in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. At The Maybourne Riviera all 65 suites and studios have a sea-facing terrace, on the cliff above Monaco. At Monte-Carlo Beach every one of the eight categories is sold with a sea view, so the step up buys space rather than outlook. Inside Monaco the sea is a category: the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo and the Columbus Hotel Monte-Carlo all sell rooms that face a patio, a courtyard or a street, so book by the view in the room name.
Can you book a hotel room overlooking the Casino in Monte-Carlo?
Yes, at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, the only hotel on the Place du Casino. Its Exclusive Room, casino view faces the Casino de Monte-Carlo and the coast: 30 square metres on the second to fifth floors, the smallest room the hotel sells. The Suite, casino view adds a sitting area at 53 square metres, and the Diamond Suite Garnier has a 44 square metre terrace over the square. Rooms on the square hear its evenings, so light sleepers should pack earplugs. At the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo, the Deluxe Sea View Suite looks over the Mediterranean, the Casino and the Odyssey pool.
Which hotel rooms in Monaco look at the Prince's Palace?
A handful of suites. At the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, the Corner Suite, sea view with terrace, 80 square metres on the third to sixth floors, puts the Palace, the harbour and the sea in one window. At the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, the Diamond Suite, Presidential looks at the port and the Palace, and the Diamond Suite, sea view with jacuzzi at the old town and the Palace. For the Rock without a suite, the Hôtel de Paris's Exclusive Room, harbour view looks at Port Hercule and the Rock from a balcony, and some of the Columbus Hotel Monte-Carlo's Riviera Suites face the sea and the Rock.
Do the cheapest rooms at Monaco's grand hotels have a view?
Usually not, so read the room name before the price. The entry Superior at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo looks into the patio. At the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo the four cheapest categories face the city or a courtyard, and the sea begins with the 31 square metre Exclusive Room, sea view. At the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo nothing below suite level is sold with a sea view. The exceptions are over the border: at The Maybourne Riviera and Monte-Carlo Beach you face the sea whichever room you book.
Where can you eat with a view at Monaco's hotels?
Le Grill, on the eighth floor of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, opens its roof in summer to a view that runs to Italy, and Pavyllon at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo has a terrace over the harbour. abc kitchens riviera takes the top floor at The Maybourne Riviera. At Monte-Carlo Beach in summer, La Vigie Zanoni, reopening in spring 2027, sits on the rocky point with nothing between you and the sea, and at Cap Estel dinner at La Table du Cap Estel moves out to the terrace over the pool and the sea on summer evenings.
How did you choose these hotels?
Independently, through extensive research, trusted sources and first-hand visits. Hotels cannot pay to be included, and every one of the ten has to exist for a different reason.
