Monaco eats in its hotels. In Monte-Carlo, three hotels within four minutes' walk of one another hold Le Louis XV-Alain Ducasse, the only three-star table in the principality, along with Le Grill, L'Abysse, Pavyllon and Les Ambassadeurs: nine Michelin stars in all in the 2026 guide. Along the coast the cooking follows the sea and the season, with Blue Bay's two stars at Larvotto, Elsa's organic star at Monte-Carlo Beach and La Table du Cap Estel's star on its private peninsula.
Choose by the calendar as much as the hotel. The starred rooms keep short weeks: Le Louis XV, L'Abysse and Elsa serve Tuesday to Saturday, Blue Bay Wednesday to Saturday and Les Ambassadeurs Thursday to Monday, while Pavyllon and Le Grill serve every day. The tables by the sea are summer ones, so plan Elsa and Cap Estel for between spring and early autumn. And breakfast is extra on the standard rates at all four Société des Bains de Mer hotels, so check what your rate includes.
The Hôtel de Paris has Monaco's only three-star table in the 2026 Michelin guide. Le Louis XV-Alain Ducasse has been the heart of the house since 1987: a gilded room, dinner Tuesday to Saturday, lunch on Friday and Saturday, and a jacket required at dinner. On the eighth floor, Le Grill holds a star of its own under a roof that slides open on summer nights, with simpler cooking, a view that runs to Italy, and lunch and dinner every day. Em Sherif Monte-Carlo cooks Lebanese on the patio, with a DJ, in season, and reopens in spring 2027.
The evening never has to leave the building. Le Bar Américain has live musicians every night until 1am, a sommelier can take you down to the cellar, Les Caves de l'Hôtel de Paris, and Cédric Grolet's pastry counter opens on the patio at 9.30am, Wednesday to Sunday. The Café de Paris is a minute across the square.

Exclusive Room, sea view with terrace
43 m²
Breakfast can be served in your room, and this is the one category below suite level with a terrace to take it on, over the harbour and the sea.
The Hermitage's two restaurants hold three Michelin stars between them in the 2026 guide, both under Yannick Alléno. L'Abysse Monte-Carlo, his sushi counter with the master Naoki Kikuchi, won two stars in its first year: a handful of seats, an omakase menu, Tuesday to Saturday evenings only, and one of the hardest tables in Monaco to get. Pavyllon Monte-Carlo, the counter off the lobby, holds one star and is the one Monaco residents book for its own sake. It serves lunch and dinner every day, has a terrace over the harbour and the old town, and its 2026 lunch menu, at 89 euros, is starred cooking without giving up an evening.
Bar Gustave opened under the glass dome in May 2026, named for Eiffel, whose firm engineered the dome, and guests single out breakfast on the Eiffel Mezzanine. Le Louis XV and Le Grill are two minutes away, Les Ambassadeurs four.

Exclusive Room, sea view with terrace
37 m²
The cheapest room with a terrace over the harbour, somewhere to take breakfast outside before lunch at Pavyllon: 37 square metres, Midi wing only.
In the 2026 Michelin guide, Les Ambassadeurs by Christophe Cussac has two stars. Cussac cooked beside Joël Robuchon in this building for two decades and now has the room to himself: Mediterranean haute cuisine, dinner only, 7.30pm to 10.30pm, Thursday to Monday, in elegant evening dress. Yoshi serves Japanese cooking under Takeo Yamazaki from Wednesday to Saturday.
From April to September, Zia at Odyssey cooks Italian beside Karl Lagerfeld's heated seawater pool, from breakfast by the water to dinner under the stars. The Lobby Bar keeps hotel hours, 8am to 1am every day under the glass roof. And you are in the few blocks where most of Monaco's serious tables sit: Rampoldi and Tip Top are two minutes' walk away, Le Louis XV four.

Prestige Room
32 to 44 m²
Nothing below suite level is sold with a sea view, so take the space: 32 to 44 square metres in the 2025 scheme, with a Calacatta Borghini bar, and spend the difference at Les Ambassadeurs.
La Table du Cap Estel has the ground floor of the Manor House, a marble dining room with bay windows over the sea, and puts herbs from the estate garden on the plate. Kévin Garcia, formerly at the Jules Verne in Paris, took over the kitchen in 2025, and the 2026 Michelin guide gives it a star. On summer evenings dinner moves out to the terrace over the pool and the sea. Le Ficus, the poolside grill, runs from May to September, and its lunches by the pool are the ones guests single out.
Guests rate the cooking as a reason to make the trip on its own. The hotel opens from May to mid-October, so this is a summer reservation. For a second starred night, the 2026 guide gives La Chèvre d'Or two stars and Château Eza one, both 13 minutes away by car in the village above.

Suites 810, 820, Les Jardins
60 m²
Breakfast is brought to the suite terraces, and this one faces south over the gardens and the sea: 15 square metres, on the first floor of the pavilion.
No fully organic restaurant had won a Michelin star before Elsa, and the 2026 guide keeps its star. Marcel Ravin oversees it, Domenico D'Antonio cooks, and the Jardin Marin menu follows what the boats bring in, served on a 1930s terrace above the water at lunch and dinner, Tuesday to Saturday, from mid-April to late September. In summer, La Vigie Zanoni, Simone Zanoni's residency, has the white terrace on the rocky point with nothing between you and the sea, Maona brings Greek plates and a DJ, both reopening in spring 2027, and Le Deck serves lunch every day until the hotel closes.
Guests rate the breakfast the best of any stay. And for a second great dinner, Marcel Ravin's two-star Blue Bay is eight minutes' walk along the avenue at Monte-Carlo Bay.

Exclusive Room - Sea View
30 m²
Every category faces the sea, so the entry room already has the view; at 30 square metres with a loggia it suits days spent at the table and the pool.
Blue Bay is the reason to eat in. Marcel Ravin cooks between his native Martinique and the Mediterranean, and the 2026 Michelin guide gives the room two stars; there is an open kitchen and a terrace on the bay, and dinner is served Wednesday to Saturday, 7.30pm to 9.30pm. In the four hectares of garden, an organic vegetable plot tended by Terre de Monaco grows for the kitchen.
The rest is for every day. L'Orange Verte runs from 8am to 11pm, the Blue Gin bar on the waterfront stays open until 1.30am with a resident DJ from Thursday to Saturday, and L'Hippocampe serves pizzas at the lagoon from mid-May to the end of September. From October to May there is a Sunday champagne brunch. Elsa, at Monte-Carlo Beach, is nine minutes' walk away.

Exclusive Room, sea view
44 m²
Every room category is 44 square metres with a terrace, so the step buys the sea and the lagoon gardens rather than the avenue, for evenings spent on the peninsula.
The Maybourne Riviera has abc kitchens riviera, Jean-Georges Vongerichten's top-floor dining room, opened in summer 2026 in the clifftop room that held a star as Ceto, too new for the 2026 Michelin guide. For a starred night, Mirazur, three stars in 2026, is 17 minutes away by car in Menton.
Fairmont Monte Carlo has Nobu downstairs, open daily from 6pm to 11pm, and Amù on the roof cooking Riviera food from both sides of the French and Italian border, with Rampoldi four minutes' walk away.

Questions people ask
Good questions about Monaco & around
Which Monaco hotel has a three-star Michelin restaurant?
The Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo. In the 2026 guide, Le Louis XV-Alain Ducasse is Monaco's only three-star table: dinner Tuesday to Saturday, lunch on Friday and Saturday, and a jacket required at dinner. Three more of our hotels have two-star restaurants: Les Ambassadeurs by Christophe Cussac at the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo, L'Abysse Monte-Carlo at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo and Blue Bay at Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort. Just along the coast, Mirazur in Menton also holds three stars and is 20 minutes by car from Monte-Carlo Beach.
Which days are Monaco's starred hotel restaurants open?
Fewer than you might expect, so plan the nights before you book the room. Le Louis XV and L'Abysse serve dinner Tuesday to Saturday, and Elsa at Monte-Carlo Beach serves lunch and dinner on the same days in season. Blue Bay at Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort is Wednesday to Saturday, and Les Ambassadeurs at the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo Thursday to Monday. Pavyllon at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo and Le Grill on the roof of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo serve lunch and dinner every day, so for a Sunday or Monday night, book one of them or Les Ambassadeurs.
Is breakfast included at Monaco's luxury hotels?
Not on the standard rates at the four Société des Bains de Mer hotels, which price it per person: 68 euros for the buffet at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, or 65 for the Cédric Grolet breakfast from Wednesday to Sunday; 58 at the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, 55 at Monte-Carlo Beach and 48 at Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort. It comes with every Diamond Suite at the Hôtel de Paris, the Diamond Suite Sunshine and Villa La Vigie at Monte-Carlo Beach and the Diamond Suite Eleven at Monte-Carlo Bay. Otherwise, check whether your rate includes breakfast.
Do you need a jacket for dinner in Monaco?
At the top tables, yes. Le Louis XV-Alain Ducasse requires a jacket at dinner, Le Grill on the roof of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo requires one at dinner too, and Les Ambassadeurs at the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo requires elegant evening dress. If dinner runs on to the Casino, its gaming rooms refuse shorts, ripped jeans, sportswear, trainers, vests and beachwear, and after 7pm T-shirts and sweatshirts too. Nobu at Fairmont Monte Carlo keeps a smart-casual code.
Which Monaco hotel restaurants are only open in summer?
The seaside ones. At Monte-Carlo Beach, Elsa serves from mid-April to late September, 15 April to 27 September in 2026, and Maona and La Vigie Zanoni open later in spring and close at the same time; both list spring 2027 for their return. Le Deck serves lunch until the hotel closes, 11 October in 2026. At the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo, Zia at Odyssey runs from April to September. Le Ficus at Cap Estel runs from May to September, while Blue Bay keeps its Wednesday to Saturday dinners without a summer season.
How did you choose these hotels?
Independently, through extensive research, trusted sources and first-hand visits. Hotels cannot pay to be included, and every one of the ten has to exist for a different reason.
