Monaco's seaside is Larvotto, at the eastern end of the principality: a beach that is largely public and open all year, rebuilt by Renzo Piano in 2021, with a marine reserve offshore. Only one hotel inside the principality has a beach of its own, Le Méridien Beach Plaza, and it is pebbles. Over the French border, the Monte-Carlo Beach Club has a short strip of fine sand below its pontoon. For the rest of this list the water that matters is a pool: the lagoon at Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, the infinity pools of Cap Estel and The Maybourne Riviera, the heated seawater of the Thermes Marins.
The calendar decides as much as the hotel. Beach clubs and lagoons run from April or May to September or October, the sea is at its best in August, and Monte-Carlo Beach and Cap Estel are seasonal hotels that shut in winter. Choose sand, lagoon or pool first, then the month.
Monte-Carlo Beach sits on its own headland at the far end of Avenue Princesse Grace, just over the French border, with the Monte-Carlo Beach Club at the foot of the hotel. A stay in any room includes access to the club: an Olympic-length seawater pool heated to 28 degrees, a pontoon and, below it, a short strip of fine sand. Entry is kept for members and for guests of three hotels, and the hotel itself has only 40 rooms, every category sold with a sea view.
The club keeps long hours in high summer, 9am to 8pm from 20 June to 31 August, and Le Deck, redone with the pool area for 2025, serves lunch every day of the season. That season runs from mid-April to mid-October: 13 April to 11 October in 2026.

Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort has four hectares of peninsula garden to itself at the Larvotto end of Monaco, and it is built around water. Its sand-bottomed lagoon, landscaped with waterfalls and planted islets, is open from May to September, from 8am to 8pm in July and August. All year there is a heated indoor pool with jacuzzis, opening onto an outdoor infinity pool kept at 28 degrees.
The sea is on the doorstep too. A guarded swimming area has been marked out in the nature reserve off the hotel's shore since 2017, watersports go from the pontoon, and Larvotto beach is a few minutes' walk. L'Hippocampe, the lagoon bar, serves pizzas through the season. The lagoon also sells day passes to non-residents, so in July and August claim your sunbed before ten.

Every room category is the same 44 square metres with a terrace, so pay for the outlook: this is the first with the sea and the lagoon gardens in front.
Le Méridien Beach Plaza is the only hotel inside the principality with a beach of its own: a strip of pebbles on the Larvotto seafront, inside the marine reserve, under maritime pines and with lifeguards from April to September, when Alang serves on the sand. The hotel adds four outdoor basins of heated seawater, two of them for young children, and a heated freshwater pool indoors that stays open all year.
The hotel's watersports base runs from June to September, and Muse serves lunch under the pines from May to September. Next door, the public beach at Larvotto is free, and Miami Plage rents a lounger and parasol there for 35 euros. The casino is 19 minutes away along the level promenade.

Cap Estel has the sea on three sides of a two-hectare private peninsula, and only 20 rooms and suites to share it. The heated seawater infinity pool sits at the tip of the cape, with a jacuzzi built into it and an attendant, and a lantern-lit tunnel through the rock leads down to a private cove with a wooden deck and sun loungers, protected from view. The cove is small and pebbled, so think of the pool as the beach and the cove as your sea swim.
For cooler weeks there is a heated indoor pool with sea views in the Spa by Sothys, and Le Ficus, the poolside grill, runs from May to September. The hotel is seasonal, so check its opening dates before you book a spring or autumn stay.

The Maybourne Riviera is on this list for its pool and its beach club rather than for sand at the door. The infinity pool sits on a clifftop some 300 metres above the sea, looking down on Monaco and Cap Martin, open from 9am to 7pm, with pizza from La Piscine beside it from noon. For the sea, the hotel has its own beach club, La Môme Riviera, in the cove at the tip of Cap Martin, with complimentary loungers through the summer and a free shuttle for the 11-minute drive.
The pool is also open to day guests, so swim before ten, when the day offers begin, or book one of the two suite categories with a private infinity plunge pool on the terrace. Every room and suite has a furnished sea-facing terrace of at least 15 square metres.

Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo stands on the Place du Casino, so its water comes by lift and by shuttle. On the top floor the Wellness Sky Club spreads a heated outdoor pool, a solarium, sauna and hammam across 500 square metres, reserved for hotel guests aged 16 and over, with the pool open in season from 10am to 7pm. Indoors, a passage leads straight into the Thermes Marins, where the stay includes a 25 by 13 metre seawater pool heated to 29 degrees and open from 7am to 9pm every day.
For the beach, the stay includes entry to the Monte-Carlo Beach Club over the border, open from mid-April to mid-October and reserved for members and guests of three hotels, with a shuttle to take you there. It is the way to have Monte-Carlo on foot by night and a beach club by day.

Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo has no pool of its own, and a private indoor passage makes up for it. The passage leads to the Thermes Marins, whose 25 by 13 metre seawater pool is heated to 29 degrees and open from 7am to 9pm, and the stay includes the pool, solarium, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Only the treatments cost extra, and an indoor pool swims the same in January as in July.
From mid-April to mid-October the stay also opens the Monte-Carlo Beach Club, kept for members and guests of three hotels, with a free shuttle or the boat from Port Hercule to get there. The day can run from a morning swim through the passage to an afternoon at the club and dinner two minutes from the casino.
