What we looked for

Fuerteventura is an island of beaches and wind, and a spa here earns its place on the afternoons when the wind is up or the sun has done enough. Two of our three spa hotels are on the Jandía coast in the south, Royal Palm at Esquinzo and Iberostar above Playa del Matorral, and the third, Secrets, is at the southern edge of Corralejo in the north.

What decides between them is less the size of the spa than how you use it. At Royal Palm the heated indoor pool and the gym come with every room, and the sauna circuit opens on three afternoons a week for a small charge. At Secrets the circuit and treatments are booked and paid as you go, on every board. At Iberostar a Star Prestige room includes one entry each to the water circuit. Royal Palm and Secrets are adults-only from 16; Iberostar welcomes families.

Royal Palm Resort & Spa is the hotel on our list that exists for its spa, and much of it costs nothing. Every guest can swim in the heated indoor pool, 126 m² with two water jets, a Jacuzzi and a sun terrace of its own, from 08:00 to 20:00, and use the Technogym gym in the same hours. Beyond it, the wellness path has four saunas, a steam bath, a Himalayan salt room, experience showers, an ice fountain and a relaxation room; it costs €25 and opens on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons, 15:00 to 19:00.

The ten treatment cabins work every day, with aloe vera peelings, Maria Galland facials and hot stone massages on the menu. Couples can also take the private spa, with its own Jacuzzi and steam bath, for three hours at a time. It is adults only from 16, on half board, above Playa de Esquinzo.

Secrets Bahía Real Resort & Spa

Corralejo, Fuerteventura

Secrets Bahía Real Resort & Spa has a spa of more than 2,500 m² that works with Natura Bissé, and it has a proper hammam. The circuit runs through hydrotherapy pools, a sauna, a steam bath, sensory showers and an outdoor Jacuzzi, and the oriental hammam is where the rasul ritual is done.

The rest of the resort makes the case for a spa week: adults only from 16, most rooms facing the sea towards Lobos and Lanzarote, two large pools in tropical gardens and seven restaurants, with four à la carte dinners on the all-inclusive. Corralejo's harbour, with the boats to Lobos, and the Corralejo dunes, which begin about 100 m south across the road, make good afternoons out between treatments.

Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace

Iberostar Selection Fuerteventura Palace reopened in September 2025 after a renovation, and its SPA Sensations offers a water circuit and treatments. Of its four pools, one is indoor and heated, useful on a windy afternoon. The 437-room five-star stands above Playa del Matorral, with three paths down from the grounds to the sand.

The spa is at its best with Star Prestige, the area for guests aged 15 and over. Its rooms include one entry per person to the water circuit, along with a separate reception, a private pool and sun terrace with Balinese beds, a lounge and a reserved area in the buffet. The hotel welcomes families too, so Star Prestige is also the quiet way to stay.
