Where to eat at and around Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort
The hotel's own tables come first. Isla de Lobos is the one to book: Canarian cooking built on produce from the group's farm at Uga, served on a terrace looking across to Lobos and Fuerteventura, Tuesday to Saturday from 18:30 to 22:00. Kampai does Japanese food, with teppanyaki cooked in front of you, a sushi bar and a children's menu; Don Giovanni is the Italian, with pizza and fresh pasta on an open-air terrace and live music every evening; and Más Tapas is the tapas bar. Tunera Pool serves lunch by the main pools, with rice dishes and a vegan menu, and Yaiza is the main buffet, with a different theme each night. The Lobby Bar Mararía has a sea-view terrace and live music at night. Book any of them on extension 9. Outside, Casale Franco is 7 minutes on foot and the old centre's church square is 7 minutes along the seafront, but the tables worth the trip need a car or a taxi: the five below are 2 to 12 minutes away by car.

Car hire in Lanzarote
Playa Dorada is at the garden gate and town bus 30 stops two minutes away, but the island's sights are 30 to 70 minutes' drive north, so hire for the days out; the Papagayo beaches are 12 to 15 minutes by car, and the hotel publishes nothing on parking, so ask before you arrive.

Our verdict
For a family week on Lanzarote it covers everything: the space, the children's park and the calm beach. Check availability for a Suite Sea View, and plan on four nights or more outside July and August.
