Lanzarote has two great views. Inland it is the volcanoes and the black ash of La Geria, with its vines in their pits, running down to the coast. On the south and south-east coasts it is the strait, with Lobos and Fuerteventura on the horizon, from Playa Blanca, at the island's southern tip, and from the rooftops of Puerto del Carmen.
At most of these hotels the view is sold room by room, so the cheapest room is rarely the one in the photographs. Hotel César Lanzarote's entry room looks at the volcano, not the sea; Barceló Playa Blanca's entry Superior promises no view; Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort's plain Suite faces the gardens or the pools; Hotel Lancelot's standard double is not sold with a sea view. Hotel Fariones is the exception, with every room sold as sea-view. So book the category named for the view, and below we name it for each hotel, with what the step up buys.
Hotel César Lanzarote stands at La Asomada, on the slopes where La Geria's vineyards give way to the coast, and its view takes in both: the volcanoes and the lava fields on one side, the hillside running down to the sea on the other. The pool, among palms and cacti, faces down that hillside towards the coast, and the sunset drinks facing the sea and the volcanoes are what guests single out.
The rooms sell the view in steps. The entry Double Room has its own terrace towards the volcano, and the Superior Room with Terrace still faces only the volcano. The sea first appears in the Superior Room with Terrace and Sea View, and the Master Suite with Sea Views has the largest terrace in the house, about 60 m², looking over both the sea and the volcano.

Superior Room with Terrace and Sea View
about 30 m², plus a 15 m² terrace€523 a night
The first room with the sea in view, from a private 15 m² terrace that also faces the volcano; there are two, so book early.
Hotel Fariones stands on the point where Playa Grande begins, and every one of its 213 rooms is sold as a sea-view room with its own terrace. That makes it the one hotel here where the cheapest room already has the sea: the entry Double Superior Sea View looks over the Atlantic from an 8 m² terrace, and the High Floor versions put the same outlook higher up.
The wider view is on the roof. From the Junior Suite Relax upwards, guests have the rooftop terrace and its pool, which look across to Fuerteventura and Lobos. Down below, the infinity pool sits among palms planted more than forty years ago, with La Barra's tables on the terrace beside it, and Playa Grande's golden sand runs east for about a kilometre.

Suite Sea View
about 63 to 70 m², plus a 16 m² terrace€479 a night
A 16 m² terrace facing the sea and the pool, plus the rooftop terrace looking across to Fuerteventura and Lobos, with a living room and a freestanding bath.
Barceló Playa Blanca was built to face the strait between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, on the seafront between Playa Dorada and Marina Rubicón. Its main infinity pool curves about 140 metres through the gardens towards the sea, with Fuerteventura across the water, and guests often say how easy it is to find a free lounger along it. Even the gym looks over the sea.
In the rooms, the view is a matter of category. The entry Superior promises none, the Superior Side Sea View sees the sea at an angle, and the Superior Sea Front is the first room that looks straight out to sea, from a furnished balcony or terrace. On a June date it was €62 a night more than the entry room, with breakfast.

Superior Sea Front
about 33 m²€246 a night
The first room that looks straight across the strait, from a furnished balcony or terrace, and at 33 m² a little larger than the Superiors below it.
Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort's gardens open onto Playa Dorada, a calm crescent of fine pale sand, and beyond it the strait runs to Lobos and Fuerteventura. The Suite Sea View is where that view becomes yours: the same 65 m² suite as the plain Suite, with a separate living room, but with its 10 m² terrace facing the sea rather than the gardens or the pools. On a resort of 385 rooms, a terrace of your own looking at Lobos and Fuerteventura is a calm place to end the day.
The view comes to dinner too. Isla de Lobos, the hotel's à la carte restaurant for Canarian cooking, sets its tables on a terrace facing the island that gave it its name, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 18:30.

Suite Sea View
about 65 m², plus a 10 m² terrace€297 a night
The full 65 m² suite with direct sea views across to Lobos and Fuerteventura from its terrace, for about €66 a night more than the same suite facing the gardens.
Hotel Lancelot stands at the eastern end of Playa del Reducto, Arrecife's town beach, with only a pedestrian promenade between it and the sand, and its Double Room Sea View looks out from the balcony over the beach and the bay. The view costs little: about €17 a night more than the Double Standard, which is not sold with a sea view.
The roof is for sunbathing rather than sea-gazing. The rooftop pool is walled with porthole windows, and it and the terrace bar under sail canopies look out over the town. For the biggest view, the two Suites on the top floor each have a terrace of about 60 m² facing the sea, with two bedrooms and a kitchen, for two to four adults.

Double Room Sea View
€121 a night
The beach and the bay from your balcony, for about €17 a night more than the Double Standard, which has no sea view.
La Isla y el Mar Hotel Boutique sells one suite for its outlook: the Suite Excellence Atlantic, 50 m², whose balcony faces the open Atlantic with Fuerteventura on the horizon, in an adults-only hotel above Puerto del Carmen.
At Paradisus Salinas Lanzarote the Premium Ocean Front turns the 32 m² room to the Atlantic, with windows wide enough to see the sea from the bed, and César Manrique's gardens downstairs.
From about €425 a night
Questions people ask
Good questions about Lanzarote
Which hotels in Lanzarote look across to Fuerteventura?
The ones on the south coast. At Barceló Playa Blanca the main infinity pool looks out over the sea to Fuerteventura, and the Superior Sea Front rooms look straight across the strait. At Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort, the Suite Sea View terraces face Playa Dorada, Lobos and Fuerteventura. In Puerto del Carmen, Hotel Fariones's rooftop terrace and pool, for guests in the Junior Suite Relax and the suites above it, look across to Fuerteventura and Lobos.
Is a sea-view room worth the extra in Lanzarote?
Usually, because at most of these hotels the cheapest room does not have the view. On Tuesday 8 June 2027, with breakfast for two, the step up was about €17 a night at Hotel Lancelot, €62 at Barceló Playa Blanca, €66 at Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort on a four-night stay and about €180 at Hotel César Lanzarote, where it also buys a 15 m² terrace facing the sea and the volcano. At Hotel Fariones there is no step to pay: every room is sold as sea-view.
Can you see the volcanoes from a hotel in Lanzarote?
Yes, at Hotel César Lanzarote, at La Asomada beside La Geria. Its view runs over the volcanoes and the lava fields of La Geria, and every room faces the volcano: the entry Double Room has a ground-floor terrace towards it, and the Suite with Terrace and Volcano View, the one suite of its kind, has a terrace of about 40 m². For the volcano and the sea together, book the Superior Room with Terrace and Sea View or the Master Suite with Sea Views.
Which Lanzarote hotels have a pool with a sea view?
Barceló Playa Blanca's main infinity pool curves about 140 metres through the gardens towards the sea, and Fuerteventura sits on the horizon. Hotel César Lanzarote's pool, set among palms and cacti, faces down the hillside towards the coast. At Hotel Fariones, the rooftop pool looks across to Fuerteventura and Lobos, for guests in the Junior Suite Relax and above. Hotel Lancelot's rooftop pool is walled with porthole windows and looks over the town; its sea view is from the balconies of the Double Room Sea View.
Does every room at Hotel Fariones have a sea view?
Yes. All 213 rooms are sold as sea-view, each with a terrace, from the entry Double Superior Sea View, about 32 to 35 m² with an 8 m² terrace, upwards. The High Floor versions of the Double Superior and the Junior Suite put the same outlook higher up. The one exception to check is the Junior Suite Relax Sea View, which the hotel describes as looking over the sea, the gardens or the pools, so ask for the sea side.
How did you choose these hotels?
Independently, through extensive research, trusted sources and first-hand visits. Hotels cannot pay to be included, and every one of the ten has to exist for a different reason.
