Where to eat at and around Seaside Grand Hotel Residencia

The hotel has one restaurant, and most guests eat there: breakfast on the terrace above the pool, lunch at the Pool Bar from 12.30pm to 4.30pm, and dinner from Wolfgang Grobauer's kitchen, which holds a Repsol Sol, with barbecue buffets on Wednesdays and Sundays and no table to book. The walk out is short and flat. Samsara is four minutes away by the Charca lagoon; the Seaside Palm Beach, the sister hotel, is six, and its tapas bar and Italian restaurant can be booked through reception for dinner; Hotel Faro, on the lighthouse square, is seven, with a charcoal grill and a cocktail bar. Nothing on the walk holds a MICHELIN star. The nearest that does, La Aquarela at Patalavaca, is 17 minutes away, so you will want a taxi or a car for that one.

Chef Wolfgang GrobauerLight, French-leaning Mediterranean à la carte, with barbecue buffets twice a weekSmart casual: long trousers and closed shoes for men, no shorts

Wolfgang Grobauer held MICHELIN stars in Hamburg and Corsica before he took over this kitchen in 2011, and it has held a Repsol Sol since 2019. The cooking is light and French in its bones, with island produce where it counts: figs and guavas from the Montaña La Data finca beside turbot from Galicia with lobster sauce and Black Angus with truffle. Dinner is on the terrace over the pool or in the tiled dining room, from 6.30pm in winter and 7pm in summer, with barbecue buffets on Wednesdays and Sundays. Hotel guests come without booking; outsiders are taken when there is room, so ring ahead.
