Where to eat at and around Caesars Palace

Caesars Palace could feed you for a week without a step outside: Restaurant Guy Savoy with its MICHELIN star, Bacchanal Buffet, Peter Luger, Nobu, Bobby Flay's Brasserie B and Amalfi, two Gordon Ramsay rooms, Café Americano around the clock and Dominique Ansel's bakery from 7am. The neighbours are the reason to walk out anyway. The Bellagio is across Flamingo Road, Paris on the opposite corner and the LINQ Promenade across the boulevard, all seven or eight minutes from the Strip entrance by Café Americano, and between them they hold Spago, a supper club and Bruno Mars's lounge at the Bellagio, a bistro terrace and a dining room in the Eiffel Tower at Paris, and a burger counter.

  • Famous chef on the Bellagio fountains · $$$

Wolfgang Puck opened Spago in the Forum Shops at Caesars in 1992 and moved it across Flamingo Road to the Bellagio in 2018. It is a minute along the Via Bellagio arcade from the Bellagio's Strip entrance, with floor-to-ceiling windows on the lake and outdoor tables in front of the fountains. • Supper club with a show, on the lake · $$$

A supper club where dinner is also the entertainment: through the evening a host and his cast perform among the tables while the kitchen sends out hot and sour lobster, the Mayfair roll of spicy tuna, hamachi and shrimp tempura, and a tomato salad with Humboldt Fog. It is on the Bellagio's lakeside row of restaurants, past the end of the Via Bellagio and about three minutes in from the Strip entrance, and its Fountains Experience patio sits in front of the water, by reservation only. The lounge opens at 5pm and the dining room from 5.30pm to 10pm, 11pm on Friday and Saturday.

  • Cocktail lounge with a live band

Bruno Mars's cocktail lounge, in the middle of the Bellagio's casino near the cashier's cage, a few minutes in from the Strip entrance. The draw is the music: a DJ from 9pm and live sets starting between 9pm and 10pm and running to midnight or later, with his band The Hooligans among the acts, and premium cocktails rather than food, since none is served. Doors open at 8pm and close at 2am, 3am on Friday and Saturday. Photographs and video are not allowed, and the dress code is strict: no caps, sportswear, shorts or sandals.

Our verdict

Book Caesars Palace for Las Vegas in full: the Garden of the Gods by day from March to October, The Colosseum or Guy Savoy by night and the Forum Shops in between. Pay the step to an Augustus Fountain View Room, and budget for the resort fee and the walking.
